Job Description

The Green Infrastructure Leadership Exchange (giexchange.org), a project of the Global Philanthropy Partnership, is a social innovation network and community of practice that seeks to activate local governments and stormwater agencies in the U.S. and Canada to implement GSI equitably. Job Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Implement the Exchange’s Education Programming, including, but not limited to, facilitate roundtables with GSI practitioners; develop and deliver peer learning circles and/or training sessions; and produce GSI webinars.
  2. Develop, organize and manage other periodic or short-term virtual or in-person programming as assigned by the Education Manager.
  3. Create and/or revise instructional and facilitation materials (e.g., audio, text, video, visual) and incorporate various materials produced by the Exchange.
  4. Apply for and maintain continuing education certification approvals with common GSI professions (e.g., Engineers, Landscape Architects, Planners).
  5. Perform other duties requested by the Education Manager from time to time.
  6. Travel to deliver custom training and/or present on behalf of the Exchange.
  7. Attend the Exchange’s Annual Meeting; the next meeting is May 4-7, 2025 in Cleveland, Ohio (giexchange.org/annual-meetings).

Required Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s degree.
  2. Experience facilitating, organizing, and producing online and in-person events (e.g., conferences, meetings, roundtables, and/or webinars).
  3. Experience designing and delivering online and in-person education (e.g., courses, seminars, trainings, and/or workshops).
  4. Facility with and able to learn online tools (e.g., Google, Learning/Community Platforms, Mailchimp, Microsoft, Miro, Monday, Salesforce, Wordpress, Zoom).
  5. Excellent communications, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  6. Ability to achieve results while working remotely with minimal supervision.
  7. Commitment to the Exchange’s nonprofit mission, vision and equity focus.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Master’s degree or higher.
  2. Training and/or applied experience in education, instructional design, educational technology, adult learning, and/or distance education.
  3. Knowledge of participatory facilitation, communities of practices and/or peer learning approaches.
  4. Experience and/or knowledge of GSI or another social/environmental field.

Schedule & Term: This is a part-time position (24 hours per week) without benefits reporting to the Education Manager. The position is term-limited through March 31, 2026. There is the potential for continuing and expanding to full-time. The Exchange's calendar currently spans multiple time zones, which means most online synchronous meetings or events take place between 9am Pacific to 1pm Pacific (i.e., 1pm Atlantic to 5pm Atlantic). Most work is remote with some modest travel required.

Salary: The base salary of $33,000 USD is negotiable based on credentials and experience.

To Apply: Interested and qualified persons that are authorized to work in the U.S. may apply by emailing a resume and cover letter to Veronica Hotton, PhD, Education Manager (veronica@giexchange.org) with the subject line: Education Coordinator Application.

Application Timeline
