SEI is seeking emerging professionals for our 10-month Climate Corps Fellowship program, starting January 6th, 2025.
Climate Corps is an award-winning 10-month, bridge-to-career fellowship program that provides paid professional development opportunities for emerging leaders by pairing them with a Host organization where they work on implementation sustainability and resiliency projects. Host organizations range from local governments, nonprofits, and for-profit businesses. Fellows gain real-world work experience and expertise in sustainability project implementation.
Climate Corps addresses climate and sustainability solutions while cultivating the next generation of environmental leaders. Since 2010, Climate Corps has worked with over 500 partners and 800 Fellows on 1,350 high-impact projects. Since 2020, nearly 99% of our Fellows have continued to pursue careers in sustainability, with a significant portion being hired by their host sites.
Qualifications
We encourage anyone interested in this position to apply, even if they do not meet all of the qualifications. We recognize that a unique perspective and background can enhance a role when many, if not all, of the listed qualifications are met.
- A college degree preferred
- An environmental degree or relevant work experience (ex. internships, volunteer experience)
- Experience in addressing and the drive to address racism and create race equity with team members and programmatically
- Be authorized to work for any employer in the United States (check here to verify if you qualify)
- For Climate Corps Education Outside Fellowships only you must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Willingness to live in the state where the position is located.
Fellowship Benefits
- A monthly stipend starting at $3,000
- $1,000 end-of-program financial award
- Health care coverage with 100% of health care insurance premiums covered by the employer.

- Career-readiness training in interview preparation, salary negotiation, and developing a professional resume and cover letter

- University of California Climate Stewards Certification - a prestigious certification through the University of California School of Agriculture and Natural Resources. This acclaimed UC California Naturalist Program prepares UC Climate Stewards to engage in and lead local solutions to advance community and ecosystem resilience.
